I have read the section mentioned from the constitution and i was also a delegate at the meeting, my understanding of the issue was that the rule change was withdrawn as i allowed by the club that initially put up the rule, they then proposed an ammendment to that rule, under the current constitution this is allowed, we were also all reminded that we were as delegates supposed to have our club's backing to make decisions on any ammendments that arose on the day, as this was the only ammendment and also a rather huge ammendment to vote on majority voted on the day to take it back to their clubs for voting, as a delegate you should have been able to make contact with the majority of your club members or at least your secretary should have so that you could get the majority feel for the ammendment, i do not see that taking it back to another council meeting will make any difference whatsoever as the majority have already voted against clutches. The clubs that were invalid to vote on the ammendment were those that did not attend rule change meeting so they still would have no vote at council. If your club chose not to vote then so be it, it really is time to let this go, i don't think it will change no matter how many council meetings it is bought up at. Just another thought maybe it is time people stop blaming the stewarding for the bad driving of some ie: clutch driven karts being able to continue etc etc, i too have witnessed a few clutch driven karts in the junior classes being driven in such a manner that they can baulk and fuel up non clutch karts behind them and then also drive over someone and put them out but they continue on, and if they lose points big deal this doesn't give the other driver back their points. On another note, i think because of the change in the executive this may be what is holding up the changing of the website and updating, as again i beleive only one person was responsible beforehand for updating this site. Might take some time if the new secretary/president or whoever it is has to get password for this site, Don't know for sure just giving the new exec a little leeway. Well have had my say now, and now i also agree with RIP let it go already. MERRY XMAS TO ONE AND ALL

does this mean 125 have to get rid of there clutches No, the rule is for Juniors/J Open classes 125cc still have there clutches as per normal. Also on a lighter side other than clutches, the floor tray rule has anyone got any information regarding that rule change? Do I have to change my floor tray for next season or can I still use the same floor tray?

no I dont think that stupid floor tray rule got past
this is the old rule
15.5.1 Shall be of non-perforated sheet of a minimum 1.2mm for steel and aluminium or 2.0mm for fibreglass. The floor-tray shall have no void large enough to permit any part of the driver’s body to pass through.

Any idea on the rule I heard about adding a bit more life to the J motor . I thought it seemed good idea Was told by my engine builder , they were voting on allowance to run piston up to 51.4 m & this be about 1cc bigger . I lost 4 sizes in just 1 time loosing air filter. Expensive days racing that day.

J motor piston increase didn't get in . My delegate said Voting was close . It made sense to me . I seized my 'S' engine & had to get it honed a lot to fix it up. I was worried at time but 'S' engine can be alright up to 110cc.

No Yamaha piston at 51.4 Who uses yamaha pistons? Strike make most of the pistons used in Aust Karting. They make J pistons & rings to suit what is s allowed in the rules. Ken Seeber said earlier in the year that he would make pistons to allow for whatever the karters & rules allowed, he too thought it was a good idea for the J's. Ring Ken yourself www strikeproducts .com.au Ask the good kart dealers they know whats going on.

Strike don't make a ring to fit that size piston you have to run a Yamaha piston, and the only one that size is a KT ring and there is a rule in Juniors preventing you from doing that.
The rule contradicts itself I think.

A rule got in regarding an appeal, now an appeal has to be logded with in 2 hours of the incident. Not good, but shouldn't be a worry unless you get into trouble.

Sorry kart 49 but speak direct to Strike products . They were asked , & they confirmed they ""Strike"" can make any size piston & """"ring""""" to suit a J-piston . No one is needing S motor bits . Its not avail. today cause the current rule stops at 51.0mm but if the rule had been passed they would be available well before 2010 season. Dont guess , Just talk to the manufacture.

I rule didn't get passed as the proposed sized piston was not made on the production line, also to keep dirt and bitchemen rules together so people can run dirt motors on bitchemen and vise versa, the rules had to stay the same.

haha what the hell are you talking about ..what production line .. and whats bitumen got to do with it ? J rules for AIDKA and AKA must be the same so people can sell there motors to bitchemen and vice versa. Who wants and extra added expense anyways.

Kart 44 I'm not sure what the concerns are about that you have said, but a phone call can sort it out. I must say after speaking to Ken from Strike products to clear it up for myself ;D ;D ;D, regarding if the rules allowed for 51.4mm piston size in a J- Engine. Confirmed is they can make any size that rules allow for. The piston would be exactly the same as current J- Pistons now. There is no need for any S- Motor bits being used. The pistion would be made on the same CNC machine that make the current pistons. The leed time for a piston would be about 2 weeks as it is now. The ring would be purchased as the current ones are now , by strike & would be available in the identical format & from supplier as they are now. The ring leed time would be about 2 months & Ken is hopeing to further improve this , but this is the same scenario for the supply of current rings[ Note there is already a ring available at 51.1, so he would just extend the range avail.] Regarding bitumen & dirt engines being the same , well that hasn't been the case for a long time . An example is the KTS engine can run a piston up to 53.0mm on the bitumen but on the dirt you can go to 55mm [ its up to 110cc on the dirt] or basically we are saying KTS is OK from 52.0 to 55.0mm [ 3mm of life ] Yet the J - Motor has only 50.0 to 51.0mm [ 1mm or about 3cc] It would alow for engines from the bitumen that are at 51.0 to be raced on the dirt, so there would be lots of low cost engines avail from the bitumen, due to the cost of barrel replacements. If an engine is past 51.0 on the dirt it has little value on the bitumen anyway now, because current they are both dead at 51.0. Its been voted out for 2010, for whatever reasons, cool , but isn't it nice to try to clear up any untrue myths, that may have misled some , should it come up another time in future.

has some merits, extending engine bore. might save the dirt guys buying a replacement barel, when their would be no gain on the track going slightly bigger, just the wallet would benifit. man that dirt must torture the pistons. i left bitumen tooo costly.

All this talk about rules would be good if we could see a new rule book. Maybe an update on the AIDKA website.
