GottaGettaGroup Grid Shelter ready for racing. Thanks to the Gotta Getta Group, Adelaide’s Dirt Kart Club recently extended double out grid is now fully covered with a brand new verandah. The newly installed out grid cover is purposely built to improve the comfort and protection of the drivers, pushers and officials from the uninvited rain and the unbearable sun in the hotter months. All the racers nominated for this Sundays 125 Lights & Heavy Trophy day will get 1st use of the exciting new fixture and if you are not racing come out and have a look. If you are in the market for a new flash verandah, carport, roof rejuvenation, windows Shutters and many other house improvements then the Gotta Getta Group are the leaders of the pack. Don’t forget to support the sponsors that support your sport. See ya trackside on Sunday! www.gottagettagroup.com.au/

THE 125’s TURN TO LIGHT UP AT ADELAIDE
With the bitter early morning chill converting to an absolutely perfect day with not a breath of wind and the cloudless sky allowing the bright sunshine to thaw out the icy covered ground it seemed the weather was on our side for once. With the pits full of 125’s with their eye on a trophy for reward for the days effort and some reasonable strong supporting classes we were in for a great days racing.
With virtually a full grid of 125 heavy’s greeting the green flag the drivers new they needed to be on their game and consistent to have any chance of starting up front in the final. With some great heat racing the heat wins went to Ben Wethers, Scott Renton and 2 heats wins to Tom Bawden. The 10 lap final was also a highlight of the days racing with Tom greeting the chequered flag to win the day, Scott Renton from 5th on the grid following him home in second to claim the 3rd place trophy and Tyron Hart finishing 3rd to be rewarded 2nd on points for the day. Other outstanding efforts came some newcomers in Beau Mumford who was racing in one of his few starts to finish 4th overall and starting each race from the back Aaron Hines accumulated enough points to finish 5th on the day.
The 125 lights made use of the quickest tracks seen all season with the karts being thrown in the corners at high speed and the karts responding by holding the line and driving out the other side with plenty of grip. The heats presented again some great racing with heat wins to Sam Putland, Daniel Price and Hayden Pitt who dropped an earlier heat finished off strong with 2 heat wins. The finals seen some changes from their starting positions with Sam Putland starting in pole and finishing 3rd and still having enough points to claim the days 1st place. 2nd place trophy was claimed by Lochlan Cates after starting from 4th and taking the chequered flag with Hayden Pitt finishing 2nd to claim the 3rd trophy on the day.
With the days racing finished early the track was opened up for some lengthy practice that seen some drivers kart swapping with maybe planning their assault on alternative class in the future. It was also great to see a lot of visitors stay and share the stories from the day and for the presentation.
So see you at Adelaide Dirt Kart Club at the place “Where families win together”

JDM was the photographer. I spoke to him and he said he'd get them up as soon as he could.
