Well i think that sucks! It may not affect many people but with 3 young kids under 5, 2 off them who only want to help and clean the kart and see me between heats are now not allowed in the pits. When 1 turns 5 shortly and we have 1 that can and 2 that cant go in the pits it makes it hard as a family. My wife and kids wont be coming as often anymore and can she get a refund on the license because she cant leave our 3 month old to go into the pits? How many claims have been made from people under 5 and over 90?? I accept the changes but Just sharing my thoughts.

Speedy - Like you I am very disappointed! This may not affect the majority of people but it does affect a lot. My Son just turned 4, has grown up around the sport and the great people and now I have to tell him, he can't come in the pits with me anymore :-( That should go down quite well. I find it hard to believe that Speedway spectators who may have no idea about the sport or Safety are able to just wonder around the pits helplessly, yet licenced AIDKA crew under 5 or over 90, that are the responsibility of the driver can not. Surely until the insurance is resolved we can sign an indemnity to take full responsibility!!! This is absolute BULLSHIT..... The future of the sport are the kids!!! Like Speedy said, How many claims have been made by persons below 5 or above 90? Unlike Speedy, I don't don't accept it & never will! This is discrimination, what's next? Wheelchairs, walking frames, goffers, pregnant woman!!! Come on!!! This needs to be resolved ASAP with the insurance provider.

Don't worry too much check with your local club.. I have been informed that the clubs are not happy. I think the isurance rules should be boycotted as you can't change the insurance half way through a season.. Will everybodys liscences be refunded.. that are effected... AIDKA should find new insurance.. Screw NASR... This is a joke.

i am seeking clarification on this ruling to also see if it covers the purchasing of a casual pit pass for entry on the day to pits. If it doesn't then this ruling is at odds with the insurance alteration. In effect if it doesn't cover both situations, then the ruling makes in not ok to licence the under 5's and over 90's but we will still take their money by way of casual pitpass to get into the pits. Another not well thought out decision

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A LISENCE WITH AIDKA I BELEIVE YOU HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THEM UNTILL FEB 2011. DO NOT GIVE YOUR LISENCE BACK TO THEM TO VOID YOUR CONTRACT IT IS UP TO THEM TO FIND APPROPRIATE COVER TO FULLFILL ALL CONTRACTS UNTILL IT RUNS ITS COURSE AT THE END OF JAN 2011. THEY ACCEPTED YOUR MONEY AND ISSUED A LISENCE ACCORDINGLY, I THINK THAT THIS WOULD BE ACCEPTED AS A LEGAL DOCUMENT IN A COURT OF LAW??? AS PREEVIOUSLY STATED IN THIS FORUM THIS IS A FAMILY SPORT AND AIDKA NEED TO PURSUE THIS IMMEDIATLEY AND FIND A SOLUTION BEFORE THEY HAVE KNOWONE LEFT AT ALL.!!!

That is good then.... thanks for clearing that up. AIDKA should try and get a new insurance provider if this can not be changed by next season.

Age Discrimination Act 2004 states that superannuation, insurance and credit are exempt from the act..... so unless NASR change it I suggest AIDKA start looking for a new insurance provider as many children and families will be effected...

Kart 16 don't take what QC has stated as being correct. Clarification needs to be sorted before anyone starts claiming a legal stance. AIDKA and also NASR are not the suppliers of the insurance, it is brokered by Marsh Insurance from one of the major insurance companies. NASR has a bigger buying power this allowing AIDKA to obtain affordable insurance by being part of their purchase. The legal precedent may not be with AIDKA but further down the line. You would be better of working what has been implemented until clarification has been obtained. Motor Sport Insurance is not easy to obtain at an affordable price so it is not an option of just canceling and going some where else, the product you get may not be as cheap or have the same cover. But this ill thought out decision needs to be addressed and I have asked it to be included on the next agenda, AIDKA meeting.

Well this just sucks.... AIDKA should have told us this at the start of the season as I find it hard to believe that they would have changed the policy..... Maybe next time read the fine print....

Clarification just through> Under 5 and over 90 people will not be allowed in pits either as member or with casual pit pass. I have been advised those who purchased a licence in this age group will have their money refunded.

I don't think AIDKA could be fairer than that considering the Insurance Ruling was outside of their control.
