Racing June 27th where everyone was a winner!
The Angas Go Kart Club put on a great track & atmosphere , where it was the Statesman’s & 125cc drivers whom battled it out for the Trophies.
The weather leading up to the event was again wet , but the track maint. team had put in a lot of hours in the days before , to make sure the drivers had the best chance of getting a great track .
It still could have gone bad overnight ,but the weather man gave Angas a break this time .
The work had paid off, the Track was smooth & full of grip , with plenty of racing action to see for the many spectators.
The drivers also got to see the new clubrooms in the early stage of extensions.
Still lots to go with verandas & shelters , lights etc but already the buzz is its looking good. Certainly a great spot to come in from the cold at night, get warmed by the heaters & enjoy a friendly drink & chat.
Presentation was more “”open”” to see the winning drivers, & hear the drivers speeches , some of which gave us all a good laugh as they thanked their sponsors or pleaded for some.
The back end of the canteen is also well underway , although this is not yet so visual from the clubrooms , but will be soon , when the back wall comes down.
Racing Kicked off after 10 & was all done around 4pm , a credit to the officials & volunteers , whom manage the meeting, with the canteen helpers & lapscorer’s, just quietly going about doing the club very proud.
Big thanks to the members whom jumped in to help with the routine track maint. during the day .
One crunch & rollover saw Brenton Aplin [ Tools 2 U ] come down hard , but following a quick red flag & some attention from the ambulance personel, Brenton was back up & about , ready to get back into the pits to put his terrific range of tools into action , to get his kart ready for the next race .
Do check out his tool box , his business ‘’Tools to U’’ is mobile & has all the gadgets to impress & for sale at really great prices to the Karters.
Check out his range of new LED portable cordless lights , great for working in the dark.
Racing again is very soon as the club runs the washed out KT Trophy meeting previously cancelled, but is Now scheduled for Sunday July 11th.
