Just a question regarding side-pods.. I had a problem with my pods last meeting when i went out on the wet track at Adelaide and filled the gap between the pod and wheel with clay. It was like driving with the brakes dragging for that heat!
I can't move the pods further forward as they just clear the front wheels on full lock as it is. I'm thinking of cutting out the backs and fronts of the pods and hoping the mud will go straight through and rattle out the bottom as well. Might just end up with a pod full of mud though.
Has anyone else had this issue, and are different types of pods better/worse.
If that doesn't work, i'm thinking of putting rookie pods on.
PS. it's lucky that Adelaide got a whole lot of new surface at the start of the year, i reckon i've taken 100kg's home so far.. lol. Pity it's no good for top-dressing the lawn.

What type of side pods do you have? I have the lightning side pods and I don't seem to have a problem with a lot of mud?

Have a look at the smaller rookie pods, they still meet the rules but you won't have any trouble with mud fill up around them. I have used them for a few seasons now

I've got the old style "breadbox" pods.. I looked at the arrow (lightning) style pods, i like the idea of the mounting bar going through the inside of the pod though and i'm not sure if this will work with that sort of pod.

I am running Unico style on the pods. The front has a slight taper to allow room for lock and They are easy to modify if they are too long as you can cut the ends and either tape or remount the off cut in the pod. If you need pictures let me know and I can send them.
