Things are looking good for the 2010/2011 W.A SKAA STATE TITLES to be held in Newman This is a good track for the state titles with a dedicated kart oval track on the infeild of the main track. I raced in the state titles last year in Tom Price and they have a good track but probably a little to large for karts so the smaller and tighter cornered track of Newman will be great

It's confirmed...... The 2010 SKAA WA State Titles will be held at the Hillview Speedway in Newman on the 2nd of October. If you want any further information about Newman, the track, accommodation or whatever just ask and myself or Bradf15 will get back to you as soon as possible.
Prize money will be revealed soon but looks pretty good at this stage.

Currently we have around 12 local clubby modified drivers for the 2010 WA SKAA State Titles but would love to have more if your interested.
Other classes are more than welcome. The minimum number for a class is unknown at this stage but I will advise as soon as possible for those interested. We have 1 local kart that can run in the 125 class.

Is there an actual WA SKAA or is this an event being conducted under the SKAA in WA?
How many classes are expected to compete and how many total entries are anticipated for the State Title?

John
Hillview Speedway will host the State Titles under the national SKAA umbrella. We don't have a state SKAA body.
Currently we have between 12-14 drivers who have advised us they will be competing in the modified clubby class at the state titles. That is the only class we run up here. We have set the number of entries per class at a minimum of 6, hoping to get another class or 2 for the event.
I haven't heard back from anyone who is interested in running another class but there is still heaps of time.

We also have some great prizes to go with the $8,000. We are looking at running cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each heat so if your able to make the trip there's a fair chance you will head home with something for your effort.
Cash and prizes are for the feature class being clubby modified as thats all we race in North West WA.
I will release more information as we sort through it.

Would love to come up and race my 125cc up there. I am guessing here but if my karts legal for AIDKA its legal for SKAA?
Logistics to get up there may be a problem though.

Don't quote me Mike, but the rules you run are a little more stringent than ours, especially with wings and all. Regarding the class, 125's, there has to be 8 nominated before that will be a recognized class for the event. Reasons are obvious with the amount of cash prizes to be divied up. Other than that licensing could be an issue, again the might be some cross co-operation, you'd have to talk to "Priscilla" how post on here from SKAA. Either way, it would be great to see some Sandgropers attend too, it's 12 hours from Perth, but good roads and plenty of stops to refresh. Either way you get the great North West hospitality to look after your needs and any logistics that might pose a problem!

bradf15, thirteen & Briggsy45! Would any of you be able to post a link for SKAA rules? Cooperation with AIDKA licenced drivers? If yes! Licences for the weekend? Cost? Only one of the AIDKA class's runs wings (Outlaws) 125's, KT's etc don't run wings! Would we need to run wings? Do you have a Junior class? Thanks in advance :-)

Stackas Link, (I'm certain this is still current) skaa.com.au/?page_id=23Then just look under classes. Wings are totally optional. arguments for and against, but from my point of view, makes 'em look excellent. Regarding license etc, Priscilla, is the person to contact as SKAA have all the answers to that one. Cheers
