Does anybody have any information on the duro dirt kart tyres? have seen them in a w.a. kart shop just wondering if anybody has used them yet or if they are allowed to be used?

All tyres that are groved and fit on kart rims are allowed to be used.

thats not entirely correct, Duro tyres are brought in to Aust by Kartmart in Perth. The are very similar in hardness and shape etc to Burris which the exception the rubber tread depth in deeper and grooves are wider. I think they are due soon at a good price too. they are not turf tyres they are dirt kart tyres.

Has anyone tried using "WETS" from bitumen Karts? They seem to be deeply grooved and I'm wondering if they may be worth a try? your thoughts please???

I wouldn't bother trying bitchemen wets, If you are looking for some extra grip or what not I suggest you let some air out of your tyres....
Maybe they would work good on a really black track??? As they are made for bithemen..... As long as they fit on you rims you give them a go and tell us what you find out, but personally I wouldn't bother.

I have tried Dunlop wets and Maxis wets. You don't need a black track for them to work I have found it the opposite. The down side Dunlop wets are very hard compound and tyre pressure must be low and the Dunlops do not wear really well The Maxis were great only issue not being able to get them wide enough they wear well and currently I use them on my front rims. I have found them to be one of the better steer tyres I have used. The compound is not as hard as the Dunlops so air pressures are similar to those used on dirt tyres. If I could get a 9 inch wide Maxis for the back rims I would use them there as well

i have been told that the duro tyres perfom very well in hot dry conditions but are not quite as good as the burris on a wet/tacky track. yet to try them for myself.

How much are a set of these duro tyres worth? The Burris tyres are way over priced when you consider you could put a set of tyres on your family car for the cost of a set.

I have been told the duro tyes are around the $300 mark for full set. As for performance i guess you get what you pay for. i will be sticking with burris. have tried hoosier but for me the burris are a better performing tyre. I can put a full set of tyres on my road car for around $300 but am willing to spend the extra for proven race winning tyres on my kart

ive just got a set off blast karting and run them on speedway the only condition they seem to suffer in is when its slick and has the water truck go around. they have worked well in loose mud conditions but are at there best when its dry and slick, there a harder tyre by around 20 points but the rubber seems to be of better quality.
wear chariteristics are very very good with a light feathering happening on all the blocks and in 9 race's including two 15 lap finals prob used mabey 1mm of wear where most of the burris runner's buffed off at least 1 right rear and one right front.
for a budget racer that runs on a lot of slick hard tracks id reconmend them
also iam a big heavy guy so those that are light might find these wont grip up for them
