With 16 members turning up over the last 2 weeks this has helped to make a lot of changes to the track and general cleaning up of the surrounding areas. Track layout has now had some minor changes made to it with some banking added to the corners and some tyre fences being moved to improve the run off safety. With still more work to be completed with improving the runoff and adding the new top surface there will be more track work to be completed this weekend. Thanks to club member Steve Baker for all his work with his Bobcat and tipper and the large amount of hours spent moving and leveling the huge amount of dirt for the banking. Thanks to the members that has helped with moving fences, killing weeds and driving vehicles to water, level and pack the new banking. Also thanks to Speedway City for donating the dirt used for the banking so don't forget to support the the sponsors that supports our club by visiting the next speedway meeting. Some more photos below of the back straight. Photos uploaded by Admin

What's still got to happen to the track. Obviously they are adding a new surface of some sort to the base which has been put down.
Are they back filling around the track?

Are Adelaide considering lights for night meetings. If it did we would have outlaws down there at most meetings. Its unfortunate we can't get there at day meetings because of morning commitments. Tracks looking good but I hope a bit of filling is going to be put around the outside of the bank corners, that might cause a few moments for drivers.

From the video the track looks nearly complete??
Have you guys added the top surface yet? Track looks fast but safe as you have added in all the run offs and moved the fence back, nice work.

Great initiative by the track maintenance crew and ADKC committee. It's always good to see people with vision and thanks to those that have put in the hard work to give us a "new" track to race on.
I'm counting down the days until i get to try it out. Cheers guys!

The track is now ready for the big test on Sundays practice day. With a 1000 tons of dirt added to bank the corners and new clay and sand top racing surface mixed in it looks very inviting for all those racers out there. With all the changes made every attempt has been made to create several racing lines with the low line for the conservative and potentially several high lines for those who dare. After a lot of collecting samples and creating small sample mixes and plenty of discussions the final decision was made with a consensus of many of our club members. Once the layout had been completed and the dirt all in place on the racing surface and on the banking run offs to make it safe, many hours was spent watering (made very easy with the new water truck) and rolling down the track to harden the surface to have it ready for this Sundays practice day. To all of the members and even some non members that has contributed to the improvements thanks from the club for all your time and effort. For all those karters don’t forget Sundays will be a great day to test your new racing lines and kart setups. See Ya track side!
