his change will see 20 Holdens line up against 10 Fords on the grid next year.
Im sure many Ford fans a very frustrated and sad that they are losing their number 1 team but on the other side of the fence, Holden fans (and myself) are excited to see the return of Craig Lowndes, (IMO a legend), and are also excited to see the number 1 come back to the red side, which will surely happen considering TeamVodafone and Holden Racing Team hold the top 4 spots in the championship at the moment.
At today's announcement Whincup said,
Personally, I am very excited, I started my V8 Supercar career in Holden teams and didn’t quite get the results I wanted so now I have the chance to rectify that,” Whincup said. “Triple Eight is a cohesive and dedicated team and I am very confident that we can continue to record similar results when we climb aboard our new Commodores to start the 2010 season. I look forward to working with Holden and hope that we can shoot for further championship success together.
Personally, I'm going to love this move. With Lowndes coming back to Holden where his won all his titles and where all Holden supports have always had soft spot for him (Even when he went to the "dark side"). And with Whincup coming to Holden in the form he is in, it will see Holden dominate the championship next year.
I just hope one thing. That they change the paint scheme.
