I was reading through the AIDKA Rules and foung out this NEW RULE.
The New rule is in bold and underlined.

The maximum age of a helmet will be 10 years from date of manufacture. Helmets must be in sound condition and fitted with a shatterproof visor as supplied by the manufacturer or goggles must be worn. Tear-offs, Roll-ons or some form of mud clearing devise must be used to maintain good vision.
14.2 All Drivers must wear abrasive resistant zip type overalls which are adequately secured at the neck, wrist and ankles (to the satisfaction of the Scrutineer). This is the minimum acceptable attire of racing. Disposable type overalls are not acceptable.
14.3 All Drivers must wear gloves.

My neck brace is integral to the collar of my racesuit.
It would have been a good idea to include some standards, otherwise the rule is meaningless and totally un-enforceable..

Like i said earlier, the collar of my race-suit has bracing in it, does that count as a neck-brace ?
Or you might get a really picky steward that won't let you race unless you have either a LEATT or HANS brace !!
This is a classic example of where there should be an explanation and guideline of the intention of the rule, method of policing the rule, and penalty for breaching the rule published at the time of the rule change and distributed to all club reps..
I agree with keeping the rule-book simple, as long as methods are in place to ensure the rules are carried out as intended.
PS, i actually like wearing traditional style kart neck-braces, i was just never allowed to use them as a kid because it has been shown that they can cause spinal damage in the event of a roll-over. (basically they can cause the helmet to act as a cantilever and extend your spine).
