Interested to see the new 2012 AIDKA Rules of Racing on the AIDKA web site as soon as they are available. I know they don't officially commence until the start of February 2012 but it will be good to check out the final wording of some of the rule changes.

Good luck with the new bumper rule, if your rear bumper either has a loop on it to protect your muffler or a tag on it to attach your chain guard to, by the wording of the new rule it will be illegal. Can see lots of arguments at scrutineering!

All drivers need to be aware that as per the 2012 AIDKA Rules of Racing that they now need to finish 4 heats at an event to constitute a race meeting for obtaining a signature. This is applicable for Novice drivers needing to complete three race meetings to obtain an open licence, ROF drivers obtaining signatures when moving up to a higher grade and Open licence drivers requiring signatures to qualify for a Title Event. If you are desperate for signatures you may need to consider a casual drive so you finish the 4 heats instead of racing

Wondering peoples thoughts ? Should AIDKA have a heat policy . I think Adelaide Club say they'll cancell if forecasted over 36deg Seems fair enough to me to have a cut off point . I'd like to go racing too, but if its that hot for drivers & officials , it would seem best to call it off & move to another weekend, that is more enjoyable. Yer can always just not go , but another day would seem best. Morgan Saturday will see people in the sun for some 8 hrs & surely difficult to get a moist track .

Good comment and I have noticed a number of clubs already postponing events due to high temperature forecasts. Those clubs are demonstrating their "Duty of Care" towards the drivers and it is nice to see you have included the officials (volunteers). I suppose if it isn't a rule then some clubs will run race events at any temperature and if you have a rule I can see arguments about the "thermometer of the day" or clubs having to have an official AIDKA thermometer reader The other important factor is what the temperature value should be. I think this is one of those things that should be left to the clubs to manage without the need for a rule. If drivers or volunteers believe that the forecast is going to be too hot for their health, personal comfort or enjoyment then they can elect to not participate. This would tend to be self regulating as without sufficient drivers or officials the club will most likely postpone anyway.
