There might as well been no rule bk used @ the recent state titles. Does the track safety officer need help with his position and its definition. How many more roll overs or injuries till you learn.
Are there any stewards with racing experience, creditable eye sight and a memory to report fact to the chief steward . Sometimes as simple as the correct kart number being reported! ( can't use mud on numbers as an excuse )
Does the starter need to read Rules Of Racing 2008 ; 9.7 to 9.9 ?
Growing nominations and quicker karts are out growing some of our tracks, we should move with the sport. Now i Know we are all human and we all make mistakes but some of these jobs require more than a free hamburger and accommodation to get the right people, this weekend a couple would have served better use in the canteen.
Well done to those who placed well & better luck next time to those that missed out. Get your act together A.I.D.K.A , give us state title we aren't embarrassed to show family, friends and other motor racing enthusiasts.

i felt the need to respond to some of your comments regarding the stewarding at the recent state titles, and yes i was one of those stewards. I can assure you i wasn't in it for the free hamburger or accomodation and never have been for that matter. i take on the position because i enjoy doing it, and yes okay i for one am not the most experienced of stewards but having said that am one of the few that put my hand up to assist. It is a difficult enough job to get stewards without which you wouldn't be able to race anyway, without them having to cop constant abuse for the job they are doing, wonder sometimes why people don't volunteer!!!!well just my vent

Two right, The job of the stewards is a hard one, and without them we can't go racing. They are Volunteers, and we should be thanking them not giving them a hard time.

I can't comment on the running of the recent state titles, but in future if we want to have a 6 race format, i think it would be better racing if we have 4 heats drawn for position, then a pre-final with highest points to the front, then a final.
It doesn't matter to me if the final only counts for the title, or if all points are combined, the important thing is that the racing will be far better using this format.
The finals are the most exciting races of the titles, and this way we effectively get 2 finals for each class. If a driver has a bad race during the 4 heats, they will have a chance to make up positions in the pre-final and final.
I think it's a shame to have a big meeting and not include a race with all the fastest karts lined up together at the head of the field.

I have to agree 6 heats can never be fair maybe it they had 8 heats, but thats a bit too many. I really think finals need to be brought back because I would always watch every final even if I didn't know anyone in the race because it was a final. If you want more spectators watching and coming to a State Title you need to bring finals back.
Bring back the old system. Unless anyone can prove to me that the new system is better and fairer.

To get the best karts racing "head to head" you could use a system similar to AKA Titles. They do a time trial which may be a bit difficult for AIDKA Clubs as the time trials may be a bit involved.
Another option instead may be to have a draw and then race as follows.
Race 1: Draw Race 2: Reverse Draw Race 3: Best Points the Front Race 4: Grid as finished Race 3 Race 5: Winner 1st over the line
Penalties for driving infringements would need to be in the form of suspensions from race events or large fines as there is no facility to remove points.
If you can arrange time trials, then it would be.
Race 1: Fastest Time Trial Race 2: Best to the front Race 3: Best to the front Race 4: Best to the front Race 5: Winner 1st over the line
You have less accidents as the best drivers are always at the front.
