Ive recently just bought a brk dirt kart chassis & just bought the motor seperately, a kt100s. I have 2 problems getting it started which may be related. The first problem is that it fires when I put some fuel down the carby but not long enough to suck the fuel up the fuel line into the carby to keep it running. Ive tried a few tricks, taking air filter off & holding my hand over it while rocking the wheels. And turning the wheels with spark plug out but just wont pump it through. The other issue which may be related is I bought a length of fuel hose which is perfect size for the fitting on the fuel tank. But the fitting on the carby is much smaller hence the hose is too big. I tightened it as tight as I could with a cable tie but suspect it would leak fuel out, or be sucking air preventing the fuel being sucked into the carby possibly. I am new to karting and these motors so any help or possible solutions would be much appreciated

If you hold your hand over the carby inlet and rock the back wheels, it should make the carby pump fuel. If you are not getting fuel running out of the carby when you do this then you need to check that the pulse line (from the bottom of the crankcase to the side of the carby) is not split.
Rookie mistake is to put the fuel line and pulse line on the wrong fittings. Fuel line is the brass one on the very bottom of the carb, other one is the pulse line.
It is not ideal to have the wrong sized fuel line, any kart shop will be able to provide the correct fuel line, it needs to be replaced every few months if you run pump fuel. It doesn't sound to me like this is your problem though.
If the pulse line is connected properly and not leaking, you will need to overhaul the carby.
Good luck.
