Angas Go-Kart Club are planning to run 3 meetings with the oval track, eg. with out the dog leg. Just wondering what peoples thoughts of this might be?

Well personally I would go to meetings at Angas if the had an oval track because an oval track is like a speedway event with passing kept t a minimum and an oval track for me wouldn't test my driving skills and theirs no point getting track time in on a track that you will never race a tittle on. Also I'm shocked to hear this because Angas Go-Kart Club is know for its great fast track and dog leg and planning oval meetings that aren't special speedway events might be bad for the club. So sorry but this is my opinion I wouldn't go if the had an Oval Track.

i think the oval track is a good idea as speeds are faster and more passing is available if your good enough round the turns or you got the gump to hold the outside line

I say go for it as it is more interesting you just have to see how many racers go to york penninsula to see how many want the oval racing, you can count me in I'll be there for sure, and I know of 4 others that will follow me [the family] as they prefer it as well

I'm new to the whole sport of Dirt Karting, but I would give it a go to see what it's like, but I must say that I like the idea of having a dog leg, but having never done any oval racing before I would love to give it a go. So I would attend a meeting if it were to be held as an oval track.

>:(oval track is for people who cant handle turning both ways, yes it is fast and lacks all the overtaking moves inside, outside and the all mighty switch back and track maintenance is worked to the max to keep a track up for all your "outside moves or high line passing" passing moves .

Mite give it a try ONCE having never done it, but three races is a long to go go round and round.

i think oval racing would be a great place for people getting into the sport, to get the hang of it, may get a little boring after a while, but put 15 other karts on the track and the novelty might last, just my .02 cents

Real Concern
At the recent 125cc Trophy Day the speedway track was raced because the dog leg was underwater. The only thing I do not like about the speedway track is that their are no sand traps and people who just go of the race line a little wash up and hit straight into the tyres( in Angas's case the big blue drums).
Angas why have you go the big blue drums it is not safe at all when you hit into them. Tyres like all other track would be a lot safer.
I really think the speedway idea is a good one just that is way too dangerous for Angas to hold meeting in this format.

Taking your thoughts into consideration Angas doesn't have any sand traps other than the dog leg and the back corners. They should make another sand trap so people do go straight into the big blue barrels.
