Steven Caruso - Jack's Back - Jack Daniels Presented 360ci Sprintcar Nationals
Author : Paris Charles
What a time it’s been for Steven Caruso and the High Friction Surface’s Racing Team, two meetings ago the boys rolled out their new toy in the form of an ex Jason Johnson Eagle. Just two meetings later that chassis has been retired after suffering a knock, shortening the car by 2 1/2 inches on the right front. Two cars in three meetings you’d think the team would be down and out right..?
Wrong! We have Steven Caruso who has won three of his last five feature races there is no confidence lacking, the team is in high spirits and why wouldn’t you be when Kevin Renton from High Friction Surface’s and ‘Mr. Supaloc’ Darren Disbury are also in your corner.
Kevin and Darren have made available another ex Jason Johnson Eagle for this time around for the young gun from Virginia. In addition to the chassis, Darren has also kindly offered the usage of his transporter and spares for tonight. ‘I really must thank my friend’s Darren and Trisha Disbury for the great support they have given, especially over recent times when we've been on the ropes,’ said Kev as the team prepared for tonight’s action at Speedway City.
Like any good fighter Steven will not be on the ropes for long as the plan for tonight’s action is to fight back, continue to circulate, keep out of trouble and bring the car home in one piece.
Away from the track the team have remained on the front foot as their car and that of Steven’s brother Mark were on display last weekend at the opening of the new Profix Shop, located on the Salisbury Highway near Waterloo Corner Rd and Park Terrace intersection.
A great day was had by all and the team handed out many goodie bags to the interested onlookers who visited throughout the day. The sausages sizzled on the hot plate and the drinks flowed under a sunny sky. ‘Thankyou to Tony from Profix for giving us the opportunity to be a part of his day, we had a great time and we enjoyed meeting everyone that dropped by,' said Kev.
Steven Caruso will suit up tonight (Friday 15.02.2008) for the running of the Jack Daniels presented 360ci Sprintcar Nationals at Adelaide’s Speedway City. Win loose or draw be sure to drop down and visit Steven and the team in the pits tonight and grab a photo card from Steven.
