Well done Adelaide on making a policy to allow Late Nominations to pay an additional nomination fee (double in your case) and be included in the grid draw instead of ROF. The number of clubs I have suggested this to over the years and they maintain the old policy of sticking Late Nominations to the ROF. It makes no difference in time to complete the grid draws with the drivers in the draw or ROF but a deterrent in place to encourage drivers to nominate on time. This way the drivers can be mixing it with the other drivers and the club "wins" by gaining some additional funding. The final grid draws can't be completed until race day if Late Nominations are being accepted up until that time so may as well just put the drivers in the draw and get the benefit of some additional income. Good initiative Adelaide.

I anticipate some people may grumble about the late nomination fee being double to participate in the grid draw. So here is an alternative way of handling the situation should that happen. Increase you standard club nomination fee to double the current value and then offer a 50% discount for nominations arriving by the Monday prior to race day (same cutoff as now). That way drivers nominating by or before the specified date will be rewarded with a 50% discount and those after and up until race day will simply pay the normal full fee. So instead of people paying double they are rewarded by paying half

In an attempt to further explain the additional (optional ) late nomination charge
The double nomination is mainly for the full licenced drivers that turn up on the race day and havent nominated and want the option to be placed in the draw rather than go rear of field for the meeting. They can still elect to go rear if they wish. This double nomination fee is their choice regarding the position they want to be placed on the day. We have had numerous requests for this & is done in some other sports. The majority of drivers will still nominate as per normal but the option is there for the other. Hope this makes sense!

Clubs who have programmes do require nominations early to format the race order and get it printed by the weekend. ;D
