What is the protocol for going from J opens to KT's? I have got off my P Plates in the J opens can I now compete in the KT's. The rules of racing book doesn't really say anything about transition from novice as far as license class goes. J Open is a D grade and KT is C grade. Do I just renew membership and pay for KT License? Also do I have to do P Plates again in the higher class or start ROF?

If you read my previous comment (deleted) then please ignore as I have now located the rule.
Might be worth consideration to moving this to the Drivers Licence section?
The Rule you need is under section 19.
19.11 If a Driver moves up to a higher grade (e.g. J Open to KT Twin) then the Driver must compete at the rear of the field for the duration of three (3) meetings. If the Stewards seem confident that the Driver can cope, then the Driver may participate in the draws at their next meeting.

You aren't a "novice" driver by the rule 5.6 definition so you will run ROF and won't need to display "P-Plates".
If there are "novice" drivers at the three race meetings you run as ROF you will have grid draws following the normal field and in front of the "novice" (P-Plate) drivers.
I would think that as you are applying for your 2012 licence then you would apply for it to be KT but recommend you check with your club secretary.

You will need your licence endorsed by chief steward. Make sure you get your book signed after each meeting, you will start ROF for the 3 meetings or as deemed by Chief Steward. You apply for a licence covering KT's when renewing licence. P plates not required you are just up grading your licence class.
