Caruso Takes Jason Johnson Ride

After a car destroying crash in last weekends SA 360 title it looked as though the hard charging Steve Caruso’s season may have been over.
In stepped Adelaide business man Kevan Renton. Renton whom operates High Friction Surface Australia and Advanced Linemarking is a long time supporter of the high profile Disbury Family race team as well as many other speedway competitors in various divisions throughout South Australia.
A quick phone call to Darren Disbury on Sunday morning and the black SA 5 Jason Johnson had piloted the previous night was now the new ride for the aspiring 360 Sprintcar driver Steve Caruso thanks to the generosity of Renton.
“Big Kev rang and asked if we could help the team with a car so we removed the motor from the night previous and loaded the car onto Caruso’s trailer” said Disbury. The chassis is the one we campaigned late last season to finish second to Max in the WSS – it’s got all the go hard gear he explained.
Through our association with Kev we may look to do more with young Caruso. He definitely knows how to stand on the gas and deserves a chance to step up. I’ll be keeping an eye on his progress with views to possibly driving with us explained Disbury.
The Disbury team now prepare for both the Kings Challenge and Classic this weekend after an eventful weekend. After starting on pole in the SA title Johnson spun the potent USA 5 machine in turn four of the first lap he then set about charging through the field to finish second a few laps short of the covered prize.
I told you this guy is GOING PLACES!!!
