Hi, I don't know reeds as I race Modified Yamaha (piston port) but I can only suggest if your bore looks smooth and fine and you have cleaned everything out nicely as you say, it might be worth giving it a quick run on the stand to see how it sounds. If in doubt don't run the thing but have it looked at by someone in the know.

It's not so much the bore as dirt getting into the conrod and main bearings. It's very difficult to get dirt out of them completely.
If you feel lucky you can run it again, but if a main bearing seizes you will be looking for a replacement motor instead of a rebuild. Worst case they can grab both the crank half and crank case and destroy both.
If it was mine, i'd at least be putting new bearings in it.

i have sent bore? away to get new piston and hone. i will be replacing the two big bearings( think tjey called bottom end bearings!) the only one i am not able to replace is the conrod one as i dont have the right equipt to split the crank. i can hear literally a speck of dirt in that conrod bearing. i will try more tonight with petrol and carby clean to get it out. i picking parts up tomorrow night after work. hopfully have back together and run in ready for saturday!? see how we go thanks for your advice too guys appreciated

If you haven't put it back together yet, wash the conrod with detergent and warm water.. I know this sounds strange but the detergent will bond to dirt particles, whereas solvents can only flush them out.
As soon as you have finished washing with detergent drown the bearings with WD40 or similar to make sure you have got rid of all the water.
