It is good to see that AIDKA has added the minutes of meetings to their web site.
This provides an insight into the workings of the AIDKA Council and decision making process.
Good initiative...

I agree, members should have access to the minutes. Gives everyone confidence in the decision making process.

Council voted on Friday night to not have minutes posted on website due to confidentiality issues, so unfortunately for now they have been removed.

Further to that, if members want access to minutes which they have every right too, they should ask the secretary of their club to provide them with minutes so that they can keep up with what decisions are being made.

This shows lack of foresight by the delegates and the executive of AIDKA by not having the minutes available on the AIDKA website. Minutes of a meeting are taken to show a true and accurate record of a meeting. There are some instance where confidentiality can be taken into account in the event action being need against members and this can easily be with held or deleted as necessary in the public domain. Every member has the right to view minutes of any meeting and the keeping of minutes make them in the public domain and as such there is NO reason they cannot be published. there would be a lot less innuendo or mis information if the minutes were easily obtainable. Remember anyone can go along to an AIDKA council general meeting and sign in as a guest This is just another backward step by AIDKA executive and there club delegates. Did any clubs advise there delegates to vote against the minutes being made public. In the time frame of them first appearing and then being removed I very much doubt it. If there is nothing to hide there is no reason the minutes can not be published these decisions taken at Council meetings affect every member.

Outlaw 19, i agree all members are entitled to know what the minutes contain and what decisions are being made by council, members should also be aware of decisions that their clubs are voting on, although i am well aware there are many members out there that don't attend their clubs committee meetings to find out this information. Having said this though i don't disagree, we were told at council meeting the other night that some information had been inadvertently put on website and that was the reason they were removed, but the Executive were still in favour of putting the minutes on website it was the council that made this decision, not the executive, remember matters like this the executive are governed by council decision and from memory either last year or the year before council had also voted against having the minutes displayed on website, this may be revisited at next council meeting though.

Appears that I was a little premature with my initial comments. Of course I can not be sure if this is in fact correct without being able to access the official AIDKA Council minutes

Outlaw19 and Enjoy47...I am sure that you will take that as "tongue in cheek" and that I actually do believe that what you are indicating has eventuated.
ps. Thanks for making the information available.
