The AIDKA club day format will generally consist of 4 Heats and a Final.
As you are already aware a new driver will be classified as "Probationary" and start at the rear of the open license drivers.
The grid format for the 4 Heats is as follows;
Heat 1 - Grid Draw Heat 2 - Reverse of Heat 1 Heat 3 - Middle split reverse Heat 4 - Middle split forward
Note: The grid draw formula for the 4 Heats ensures a fair draw and for most clubs is managed using a computer system.
Final - Highest points to the front but ROF and Probationary are still behind the open license drivers.
There are rules that specify how tied positions are calculated for Final grid and Meeting positions that are documented in the AIDKA Rule book. At a later date if you would like them explained then please ask as I would be happy to assist.
The current point system is as follows;
Place Points 1 20 2 17 3 15 4 13 5 12 6 11 7 10 8 9 9 8 10 7 11 6 12 5 13 4 14 3 15 2 16 1 17 1 18 1 19 1 20 1
The standard track limit at AIDKA clubs is 20.
Up until this year only the top 16 qualifiers were eligible to race in the Final but as of 2011 this rule has changed and the top 20 qualifiers will race in the Final.
Hope this assists.

Here's a basic run down of the day this maybe useful may not be. Anyways on a race day Sunday (same on Saturday but times are different) at 7.00 the gates open to the track, this is the earliest you can enter.
Scrutineering is from 7:30am till 8:30, this is where you take you kart to be checked under the grid to make sure it is up to specification. You must bring your log book to scrutineerring.
Nominations will be paid in the clubrooms (Canteen) PRIOR to being scrutineered at around the same time.
Late arrival will result in rear of field for the event.
Drivers Briefing which all drivers MUST attend is usually held at about 8:40. Usually goes for 5 to 10 minutes. This gives you a run down of the day, the steward addresses you and you are read the code of conduct.
Racing will start at 9:00am. Grids will be placed on the Grid Board you will know where this is as many people crowd around this area at around 8:55 seeing their draws.
After racing is completed at approx 4:30 depending on nominations and how the track has held up. Presentation occurs in the club canteen.
If you would like any other info or have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks Admin
