FEB 5TH & 6TH WORKING BEE
Yes the new season is already here again! For Adelaide Dirt Kart Club members the 2011 season is certainly going to be an exciting time with 3 super night meetings scheduled with the introduction of the new 125cc-DOUBLE THE TROUBLE 40 LAP DERBY (Night Meeting) in July, the Ultimate Power meeting for the 200CC & KT Twins at the annual WOODSY’S DASH for CASH and the all new Gold event the 2 day Inaugural 2011 DIRT KART CLASSIC meeting in late March.
To build on the huge improvements made in 2010 and to enable the club to start this season in the right direction with facilities suitable of running the premium events the Club has scheduled a working bee for this Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th of Feb from 9am to 12noon each day. So to all members who can spare 3 hours on either day please show up with any tools that would be handy i.e.: shovels, racks etc, and the willingness to chip in to help that would be appreciated.
Don’t forget clubs survive on strong supporting members so make an effort to contribute in 2011.
See you trackside!

MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS COMPLETED AT WEEKEND WORKING BEEWith the 2 days over the weekend and some great volunteer numbers rolling up for both days some major improvements were completed at the Adelaide Dirt Kart Club. With most of the 8 volunteers on Saturday being regular contributors it was also very pleasing to see Chris who is not a member yet come out to get acquainted with the club and help with the improvements to add a 2nd in grid, setup the new scales pad and move the old noms box to a new location creating more space at the back of the out grid. Sunday more than 16 volunteers turned up with many of them who had helped on Saturday progressed the changes to near completion. Additional work tackled included cleaning the lap scores box, spring cleaning the canteen, toilets and tidying up the track and runoff area’s that had excessive weed growth from over the break. In addition to Chris and the regular volunteers 3 more potential new members also turned up to get and insight into the club and the sport, great to see new faces turning up. The Club would like to thank all the volunteers over the weekend and also a big thank you to CBS for the use of the bobcat that saved many hours of backbreaking work. This weekend there is still some minor work needing to be completed with cleaning the pit area and tidying up the tyre barriers so it would be great to see some other volunteers offering a few hours on Saturday to get it all ready for Sunday’s swap meet and practice day, here is your chance to help. All those who have been cleaning your sheds out don’t forget this Sunday is a rare opportunity to bring out all your left over parts and karts and turn them into ca$h. Sellers welcome at 9.00am and buyers welcome at 10.00am. See ya track-side!
