Was just wondering if anyone else knew anything of this speedway meeting a strath mate told me at the WSS second round of speedweek at the bridge, only Angas members are invited I think but can they hold a race meeting at Murray Bridge being a speedway track with no tyre barriers.
I think Adelaide did a promotional event at Gilman a while back but that wasnt a race meeting. He said you have to pay and nominate aswell.
Is this true was just wondering as he sounded pritty keen, and I told him to have fun on the ruts lol sounds interesting but rather odd to hold a race meeting.

The Angas Go-Kart Club has been asked to put on a demonstration event at the Murray Bridge Speedway on February the 5th. The night consists of sidecar racing and the track should be quite smooth. We plan to be running three classes only, KT's, 125cc and a mixed class of 200cc open, KT twins and 100cc open. Due to only about 20 entries so far I am opening this event to AIDKA licensed drivers from any club. You will be required to nominate for the night to receive discounted entry into the pits at $25, otherwise it will cost $40 pit entry on the night. Any pit crew will also be required to nominate to receive the discounted price. Normal entry into the speedway is $20 for adults, so it is a good deal price wise. Passes will be issued for the discounted pit entry The demonstration will be speedway style with the opportunity for practice, then 2 heats and a final. All vehicles should be in the pits before 4:00 pm. Drivers Briefing at 4:45 pm
Tim McAvaney has offered us prize money of $175 per class, but as it is a demonstration, this money will be divided between all drivers as appearance money only.
You will require a current 2011 drivers licence. Pit crew licence is also required or pay the normal $40 pit entry.
Nominations will close Friday 28th January. Nominations to Bob Waters. Ph. 8384 4709. Mob 0438 835 035. Any enquiries to Darren Rowe 0418 804 311.

How many people actually went to this? Was going to go but didn't fill out my licence forms. Which I really should do.

I'm not sure as to how many karts exactly were there, but what racing I got to see of them was great and my 8 year old daughter loved them and wants one herself. I hope they get more then just a demonstration run and compete there more often. I was actually quite impressed with the racing and we are looking at possibly buying some karts for both my daughter and I.

Should try the swap meeting at the Adelaide Dirt Kart Club on this Sunday the 13th @10.am as I believe there should be some karts for sale there.
