i recently bought a Benson dirt kart with 125 leopard motor etc. however the carby is upside down compared to most if not all others that i have seen. the previous owner told me that he had been informed that it was advantageous this way? anybody had any experience with this setup? any pros or cons? Thx

A few run the leopard carby upside down.. The main advantage is that it is easier to reach the tuning jets.
There are a few different versions of the carby eligible for leopard motors, and some of them will lean off when the throttle is closed when run upside down. Depending on how the rest of the carby is set-up this may be a good thing.
Like everything in karting, you'll find you get a lot of different opinions, mostly because there's more than one correct way to do most things!
In a nutshell, if the motor runs clean through the rev-range, there is no problem running the carby upside down.
