Angas has absorbed the cost to hire the transponders, leaving Noms for Sunday at $20 per kart Well $20 is $5 extra than normal. Also this would have been nice if we got told this when we nominated or they could have put it on there website a little earlier. I have nothing against the testing of Transponders AGAIN. Maybe the 3rd time something will go wrong lol. It must be costing AIDKA a lot for all these tests? I just think it would have been nice to get notification on this a little earlier than 4 days before the meeting. I hope good trophies are on offer as $20 is $5 more than normal it is not like you are running a night meeting

I have nothing to say..... except it was nice to know the "Place to Race" (Stolen Speedway City Slogan) will be running transponders.
It's good to know transponders will be issued & fitted at scrutineering, where help is availiable if your unfamiliar to the product. Well I am pritty sure everyone will be unfarmiliar with the product like you said 2 lines earlier, wasnt that the reason why transponders are being run. Surley it cannot be for further testing like stated.
Good to know people are on the ball..........

So far nothing has came to my attention as only opinions are being stated, just keep in mind that we will not support bad mouthing towards any club helpers, officials, AIDKA affiliated clubs or AIDKA in any posts.

I would just like to add my opinion as i cant see any positive feed back from this post wich i believe is wrong for the sport.
i competed in Both WA Titles over here and the NT titles In Alice Springs. In which both events used the transponders for the first time.
Both events had no problems with the product. All thats needed is 2 zip ties and ur set for the weekend.
Im sure there will still be lapscores as it is the first time being used?
I would also like to congratulate the professionalism and time of Orion Timing (transponder company) for making it easy for every at such large events.
Good on the Angus Go Kart Club for testing it before they host the state titles next year also!!
Will see you then!

I would just like to perhaps clear up one point mentioned above by Kartman, Angas club are funding the transponders for their club championship not AIDKA, the $5 i would think is to help offset some of the costs.

I would just like to perhaps clear up one point mentioned above by Kartman, Angas club are funding the transponders for their club championship not AIDKA, the $5 i would think is to help offset some of the costs. That's fair enough, the club should take the cost as it is no title event. I was just a little upset that we didn't get told when we nominated and also the fact that the club has said they will absorb the cost well they obviously have not!! I just don't like liers and not being told stuff when appropriate. What happens to all the people that don't read the site? They just rock up on Sunday and find out the have to pay $5 extra. The situation was just poorly handled in my opinion. AIDKA is doing the right thing, they really don't need to be tested again so the club should pay. Thanks for clearing that up, I just heard from someone else that AIDKA was paying for the use of the transponders.

No worries Kartman, can't say i disagree with you on some points, especially as you rightly say some people don't have access to the internet. I really just wanted to point out that it was in fact the club that have chosen to run the transponders and not AIDKA, and again i agree, i beleive the two titles now that have used the transponders have proven what a great idea (my opinion) they are and when used in conjunction with quickgrid is a great tool. I think now for future titles then the drivers may have to pay slightly more for nominations to again offset some of the cost but i think for a tiitle and given enough notice this should not be a problem.

Doesn't Adelaide charge $20 for a normal meeting What has Adelaide got to do with the $20 charge we are racing at Angas aren't we Was there a need to mention Adelaide? I think not, we all know it is next to the real "Place to Race" but there was no need to bring a different track into this discusion. I am sure the Admin of the site would have merged the Adelaide and Angas boards if he wanted this. If you have a sarcastic question that you can easily find out checking their website atleast put it in the right spot.... Also Adelaide charge $15 for all meetings except NIGHT meetings and TROPHY meetings where you have to pay $20. Only a strath member would say that "maybe travel a little more and you will know the price" Sorry just had to mention that! Also I do feel that by saying this you are going against the site rules and since you are a guest I am pritty sure that you DON'T get three strikes like members do. Remember all clubs are different all try to do what is best for the sport there is no need to compare clubs as both are currently on different paths for the future. Also to Trevor I can read between the lines, no need to talk in that tone, I am glad you "Love ya feedback". It is feedback whether positive or negative that keeps clubs improving. Not everything can be PERFECT. Also if strath always charged $20 for club championships why would there be a need to advertise that noms are $20 on the website. I feel that all this could be avoided by simply telling the drivers when we nominated as this wouldn't have been though of over night, the problem would have been avoided. These are my personal opinions, if you don't like the tough love everyone is allowed to have their opinions as long as it is with in the site rules and isn't directed at any individual or club.

Talk about storm in a teacup..
Good on Angas for giving the transponders a go to get a feel of them before using them at the States next year.
Sure they could have mentioned it to their members a bit earlier, but i hardly think it makes a significant difference to a drivers preparation for the meeting.
I've heard nothing but positive feedback regarding the orion-timing system, take a look at what has happened with the AKA and their attempt at introducing compulsory transponders if you want to see something worth whinging about!
Anyway, hope all goes well at the Angas Championships.

Thanks Tom / WA Ozzy Constructive feedback great . Transponders do sound like their going forward in karting. I was informed it was tight for Angas to be in a position to try this for sunday , great work by all to get the reciever system installed under the track , & the Orion team s help & advise, but all was confirmed on Tuesday night committee meeting , ready to go , hence the short notice . The ''Place to Race '' is the Angas club giving their best always & not complaining....... To all the ones with their guessing opinions & endless assumptions, jumping off before looking , Love ya work , keep up the terrific pre - race entertainment .
