I am looking for OUTLAW class only karts to run in a Standing Clutch Start event early in the new year. I have spoken with a club representative about the possibility of running such a race and if enough Owner/Drivers can be found I would promote this race as an ongoing annual event, but only if enough people can bring out their Outlaws. I was recently surprise by a comment of some drivers never have seen Outlaw class karts. There will be a substantial trophy for the first 4 place getters. Please email me at brenton_talbot@yahoo.com LETS GET THIS HAPPENING

It is unfortunate, but I think the 125 cc classes have now taken over from the Outlaws.
I remember when the Outlaw class was one of the biggest at most events. As you have mentioned they have diminished to the point that some people wouldn't have seen one.
I predict that the current Outlaw class will be the next to be removed from the AIDKA specifications.

I would be very surprised if outlaws were dropped by AIDKA. There are a lot more around than one would think there is. As far as 125 being the premier class that is much open to debate. It is common practice to combine 125 cc with outlaws at country tracks not because of the lack of numbers in outlaws but because there are insufficient 125's to run in there stand alone class. !25's are more prevalent at your Metro and close metro clubs than they are out in the sticks. Personnally I get very peeved with having 125's combined with outlaws put them in with something else. You want see outlaws come to Yorke Peninsula at the night meeting in September you will be surprised and there are more under construction that will be racing later in the season. So they are not dead you just have not been around when they are.

I can only go on the facts. Don't recall any recent "oversubscribed" Outlaw classes at any events. On the contrary there are now multiple weight divisions in 125 cc and they also have "oversubscribed" class numbers.
It will be interesting to see the Outlaws outnumberig the 125 cc karts at the SA and National Titles based on your predictions.
Look forward to seeing if you are correct.
Obviously I don't get out to the small clubs where there are masses of Outlaws making up the numbers for the 125 cc classes. The ones I do attend are lucky to get a single Outlaw and they usually get to race in a mixed class.
I still don't think that there will be more Outlaws than 125 cc at the Title events.

Hey Outlaw19 I found this statement that you wrote. I note with interest - "I Have considered running at other clubs but not a lot of choice when there isn't a lot of outlaws to run with". Appears that you do actually agree that the outlaw class numbers are minimal.
*** Your comment ***
I would like to see all clubs promote and outlaw class series include in possible programming. I consider this to be a much maligned class and needs to be promote Still I might be prejudice because my first kart is an outlaw my second kart is an open class. I have considered running at other clubs but not a lot of choice when there isn't a lot outlaws to run with. I know the kt classes do a lot for karting but there are other classes that need promoting. I would be prepared to sponsor a race and provide trophy for outlaws if something was organized.

I still stand by what I said I have never said there are masses of outlaws but! there are more around than I knew about and obviously than you know about. That is my aim promoting this outlaw only race. YORKE PENINSULA 5 outlaws with another being built but can only boast 1 125 at YORKE PENINSULA relying on outside clubs to bring more. I have contact other outlaw owners advising of my intention and have received a positive response. I have never said there would be more outlaws than 125's at titles you said that. I have never knocked a class you have done that. More effort helping promote a class and karting as a whole is time better spent. I am happy to discuss the merits of any class when anyone, if you want to catch up and discuss it with me come to Yorke Peninsula just look for outlaw 19.
