Caruso Takes The Chocolates
Author : Paris Charles
After a few meetings of misfortune Adelaide’s Steven Caruso rewarded the High Friction Services Team with the best Easter present of all by finding the fastest route back to victory lane, taking a well deserved victory in the Easter 360 Sprintcar Cup / Ray Skipper Memorial at Adelaide’s Speedway City on Easter Sunday.
The Easter meeting started well for Caruso, sounding his early intentions by making the most of his front row advantage to run away with the opening heat. The second heat race proved to be just as valuable, starting from the rear Caruso moved his way forward to finish in 7th placing which earned him enough points to put the ex DFR / Jason Johnson Eagle on the front row for the all important feature event.
From the front row Caruso bounded like the Rabbit 'Easter Bunny' to a handy lead and from that point the determined young gun ran as hard as possible to the waving chequered flags awaiting him at the finish line. ‘It’s great to win the Easter Cup,’ said Steven on the victory dais as he collected his new piece of silverware for the mantelpiece. ‘I really must thank my sponsors and everybody who has supported me for the season to date,’ he said in closing.
With one round of the domestic 2007 / 08 Speedway City track championship left to be run the High Friction Services Team will go into the event with all guns blazing as the battle for the championship will come down to the wire in the final round of competition that will double up as The City of Playford Lord Mayors 360 Sprintcar Cup to be run of Saturday 5th of April 2008.
