I was just wondering what are some of the changes you would make to the chassis in regrd to setting up a kart. Wanting to know some of the more advanced techniques other that tire pressure etc.

The more information you give us, the more we can help you out.. It is quite different depending on what class you race in.
I can give you a pretty good idea how to set up a KT(light or med.), 100, 125 kart, but only know the basics for the other classes.
If i was to rank set-up items it would be something like this: (assuming you have settled on your make of chassis)
Weight distribution: most obvious is seat position, but also include position of weights or accessories. You need to measure weight distribution from front to rear of the chassis, and also centre of gravity (determined by rake and height of seat).
Axle: stiffness / hub width / rear track / rear tyre pressure
Chassis flex: depending on what brand, torsion bar(s) tight or loose, also pod bars and front/rear bars tight or loose.
Front wheel alignment: for me mainly to ensure it's pointing straight with driver seated in position to minimise rolling resistance.. (note that camber and toe change significantly when you sit in the kart, especially if you are big-boned)
Let me know what class you race, and where you think you are losing out to the faster karts ?
Also keep in mind that with dirt karts, the majority of the handling comes from the actual driving style.. As a guide i'd say overall speed is divided: Driver 50% Engine 25% Chassis 25%
It's not the same as bitumen where the chassis set up is probably 75% of your speed.
Enjoy!

A good tip if you run more than about 5kg of lead on your kart is to try it in different places to get a feel for how the weight effects the performance of your kart. That is easy and quick to do and you don't need to drill more holes in your seat.

Lightning karts have a really good tech section concerning setting up a kart and explains why the relevance. I would start here direct from a manufacturer with year of experience for your base set up. Then you have a reference point to start with. Go to Lightning Karts websyte and look up AIDKA Set Up.

Good on the Lightning boys for getting plenty of info on their website.. It would be nice to see other manufacturers follow suit.
A couple of things interest me:
- Moving the front tyres in to get faster turn-in. - Moving the seat further forward in a 125 than a KT.
I've found the opposite of these to be true for every type of chassis i've ever driven.
It just goes to show that you really need to experiment to find what works for you! Like i said earlier, the way you drive a dirt kart has more impact than the way you set it up..

I agree Tom it comes down to trial and error once you have a start point then it is a matter of finding the setup that suit your style and class. I currently run 2 outlaws 1 a kx 125 two stroke the other a cbx 250 four stoke. Driving style needs to be altered to suit each there is no happy medium between the two. Unfortunately there are no base settings to work from when fitting a motorcycle engine on the side so it is all trial and error. My other kart is a reed valve 100cc open basically not a lot needed doing until my daughter started driving it and now drives rings around me the balance suits her style. So yes if you have an aggressive driving style you need the kart to suit that style.
