CLASSIC NOMINATIONS
As several drivers have contacted us as they have been waiting for their licence so they can nominate for the “INAUGURAL ADELAIDE DIRT KART CLASSIC” the nomination date has now been extended to last mail on Wednesday 16th of March. This is also a reminder that you are able to nominate for the “CLASSIC” without needing to send a copy of your current licence as long as you have an up to date licence on the day. Any nomination enquiries please contact Nancy on 0407242121 or Adrian 0418561428. See ya Trackside.

Who knows...? I reckon about 150 or around there. Your guess is as good as mine. Should be a great weekend, bring on night racing Let's hope the track wasn't as bad as the one at the place to race last weekend. Track should be nice and hooky with all the rain expected.

I was told over 150 all classes are racing even the outlaws. Should be a great show, let's just hope all this rain stays away. It looks as though the weekend forecast is fine but hopefully there is not to much rain on Friday.

photo supplied by JDM Photos “ADKC CLASSIC” CLASSIFIED A CLASSIC EVENT With 160 karts entered (including 15 from interstate) for the “INAUGURAL ADELAIDE DIRT KART CLASSIC and mild weather forecast for the weekend all was set for the first 2 day event held at the current ADKC track. All was set for a great event with leading Motor Sport commentators Wade Aunger and Phil Michel armed with their customary microphones calling enthusiastically all the action heat by heat including informative facts on drivers. In support was also the DJ that pumped out the music over the weekend with a younger group of participants enjoying themselves dancing to the beat in the main break. Saturdays racing started with 3 rounds of heats run over the afternoon with the final heat for all classes held under lights on a track that was near perfect for the entire nights racing. The heats were an opportunity for the drivers to earn the points to secure a front starting position in the dashes. Sunday started on an official note with the national anthem supported by two 125CC karts clothed with chequered and Australian flags draped on the back giving the final day a true Aussie touch. With the points setting the starting positions for the dashes giving those who had a bad run on the Saturday an opportunity to improve their starting positions for the final. With all the hard work done in the heats and dashes it was time for the action packed “winner takes all finals”. With the fence lined with several spectators deep, the action packed finals gave Wade and Phil an opportunity to lift their excitement level with the all out effort from the drives to secure one of the metre high trophies for the winners. Great racing was on hand with some drivers using the 12 lap finals to work their way up to a winning position form deep in the field. Each winner completed a victory lap holding the chequered flag with pride followed by the on track interviews with an insight to how they had seen their race unfold. A final formality for the weekend was the presentations with some of the juniors winning trophies as tall as themselves and some winners no doubt would not let them go including when sleeping. The interstates were also a proud bunch with 5 trophies heading over the border with the expectations of coming back again next year. Adelaide Dirt Kart Club would like to thank the Major Event Sponsors CBS Bins, Edward Kart Wheels, Speedway City, Distinctive Homes, Garden Grove in helping to make this event go from a vision to a reality. I would also like to take this opportunity to also thank the volunteers that have helped to enable such an event to take place as it would not have been such a success without your help. Now it’s time to start planning for next year so place the “CLASSIC” on your must do events list with dates to be released later this year. Do not be one to miss out next year!

Well done ADKC, what a fantastic event. Great track, everybody loved the format. Coming from over the border will definitely return instead of the state titles next year !!

Congratulations to the ADKC for sticking your necks out & running an event all the karters throughout Australia have been wanting for so long.
It is a credit to your committee & your club on the show run for the Adelaide Dirt Kart Classic & myself & my son were honored to be invited to attend.
We have attended the ADKC a few times now from Perth & each & every time we have been welcomed with open arms, I thank you all again & look forward to attending your club again in the near future

Gotta admit that at first I didn't like the idea of a winner takes all final but after you drop a heat you like the format.
Was a great meeting, will be back again next year for sure.

Excellent event, had a great atmosphere. Well done to all involved, also nice work with all the upgrades in the off season. It is great to see the club improving.
The format is great. Especially the pre-finals.
Hopefully next year can be just as good.
